Invest in your home's future: laminated shingle re-roofs

Laminated architectural shingle from CertainTeed, Owens Corning, IKO and Malarkey, quoted by estimators who have been in the trade for 20+ years.

What fails on a shingle roof

Wind damage does not only happen to old roofs. It may be due to an incorrectly installed roof or to failing, cheap products, which is why the first question after a lifted shingle is how the roof was put on and with what.

Granules in the gutters are the other early sign: the shingles are deteriorating. If the estimator determines it is a recalled product, Gregg Roofing can help with the claim process for a nominal fee. Moss is the slow one. As it grows it lifts shingles, leaving the roof open to leaks and, eventually, rot in the sheathing underneath.

How the work gets planned

Our estimators are highly trained and have been in the trade for 20+ years. You call, email or send a request online, the office sets a time, and the estimator inspects and measures the roof. Back in the office the estimate is prepared at current market pricing for material and labor, then sent by email or mail, whichever you prefer.

Product choice is part of that conversation. Gregg Roofing installs CertainTeed, Owens Corning, IKO and Malarkey, and the estimator can explain why one line suits your roof better than another. One customer, after a severe ice and wind storm, wrote that the detailed quote was honored upon completion.

When you accept, you sign and return a copy and scheduling begins once it arrives. The estimate itself is free.

What to watch once the new roof is on

One of the ways Gregg Roofing stands out is its ability to teach. The company is not just there to fix your roof and collect your money. It wants customers to know how to prevent future mistakes and to get the right products in the first place.

In practice that means a few habits. Check the gutters for granules, look up at the ridge line and around vents and pipe boots for cracks, broken seals and rusted fasteners, and take moss seriously before it lifts anything. One homeowner wrote that the estimator pointed out several areas that needed special attention to keep the roof in good shape, and found a creative solution that did not involve tearing off the existing shingles.

Another had a roof installed in 2017 and called it trouble free through heavy snow and rain years. When a small leak finally showed up, the office returned the call quickly and had an experienced technician at the house within two hours.

“Great to work with. Good communication, thorough evaluation, straight forward estimate, timely completion.” MJ Donaldson, Google review.
